INTERPOL co-ordinated operation targeting illegal trade in endangered reptiles leads to arrests and seizures worldwide
Nov 2, 2010 - A worldwide operation co-ordinated by INTERPOL and involving 51 countries across all five continents against the illegal trade in reptiles and amphibians has resulted in arrests worldwide and the seizure of thousands of animals as well as of products worth more than 25 million Euros.

Yukon Wildlife Enforcement Blitz Yields More than 50 Violations
Oct 8, 2010 - Env. Canada - Environment Canada officers have completed a two-week import/export border blitz at the Beaver Creek border crossing in Yukon Territory. Officers uncovered more than 50 violations under federal and territorial laws, including those under the Wild Animal and Plant Protection and Regulation of International and Interprovincial Trade Act (WAPPRIITA).

Illegal ivory and rhino horn trade target of INTERPOL co-ordinated operation across southern Africa
May 18, 2010 - INTERPOL - A transnational operation co-ordinated by INTERPOL targeting wildlife crime across southern Africa has resulted in the location and closure of an illegal ivory factory, the seizure of nearly 400 kilos of ivory and rhino horn with a market value of more than one million dollars, as well as the arrest of 41 people.

N.L. harp seal hunt set to begin
CBC News - April 5, 2010 - The harp seal hunt north of Newfoundland and Labrador is scheduled to begin Thursday with the quota increased by 50,000 animals to a total of 330,000.

Poaching: Zim probed by Interpol
Zimbabwe Online, Mar 22, 2010 - Zimbabwe is among 18 countries being investigated for complicity in a racket involving the illegal trade in traditional medicines containing protected wildlife products, the International Criminal Police Organisation (Interpol) that is coordinating the probe has announced.

Governments agree to protect endangered sharks under UN-backed treaty
