June 1989 -November 2003
Buddy came into our lives when he was 8 weeks old. He was so tiny that he fit in the palm of your hand. We lived in the country and he loved to roam the woods for hours. He was a very loving loyal dog always wanting to snuggle up to you and he even slept in our bed under the covers with us. Everybody just loved Bud because he had such a great personality. When Buddy was five we decided to get him a playmate and that's when Rusty our Sheltie joined the family. Bud showed him who was boss right from the start, but they soon became good friends. Four years ago we moved back into town and he didn't adjust well to the move, but he was still our loving loyal Bud. Over the last year or so we could start to see the signs of aging creeping up on Bud, his eyes were starting to fail him and he was starting to lose his housetraining skills. He was having trouble with his legs giving out on him while he was standing, a couple of times falling down a few stairs. We visited the vet and she thought that it was time to say goodbye to our friend. It was the hardest decision that we ever had to make but on Nov. 6, 2003 we said goodbye to our loving companion Buddy.
It's been almost 5 months since Buddy left us and it's just as hard today as the day he left. We all miss him terribly, but we know he's in a better place at Rainbow Bridge. We are grateful for the more than 14 years he enriched our lives, and we know that he had a good life in a loving home. Rusty is lost without him, and we're hoping that in time it will be easier for him as well as us.
To our loving Bud, we miss you and love you very much. You will always be in our thoughts and hearts until we meet again.
Love Denise, Mal & Rusty
