The kindness and generosity of caring people like you means The Humane Society of Canada can help even more animals during this Christmas Season and the Holidays. On behalf of the animals a heartfelt thanks.
December 27, 2013, TORONTO – Family, friends, parties, decorations, food. Christmas can be a wonderful time of year. However, many of the same things that make the holiday season an enjoyable time for humans, make it a dangerous time for pets.
Just in time for Christmas and the Holidays, "Snoopy", the world's most famous dog, Global Television, Paramount Home Video and The Humane Society of Canada have teamed up to send people a light hearted message about adopting pets at this festive time of year, according to Al Hickey, Western Regional Director for The Humane Society of Canada (HSC).
October 31, 2013, VANCOUVER – Halloween is a lot of fun for children, but it can be a terrifying time, and even a dangerous one, for many pets says The Humane Society of Canada (HSC). The national animal charity is asking that people ensure that their animal companions don't suffer during Halloween.

The Humane Society of Canada would like to thank the Cathedral Church of St James for their invitation to attend their annual Blessing of the Animals ceremony. Held on the first saturday of the month, close to the feast of St. Francis of Assissi, the Blessing of the Animals celebrates the importance of pets in people's lives, and remembers the lessons of St Francis.
It was a bright, crisp morning as the ceremony was held on the lawn of the church; after the service, owners were encouraged to bring their pets up to receive a blessing by the Minister.
