In Memory of Jeremiah James Greene

1940 - 2002

"...Jeremiah was a trophy of grace. The dramatic change in his life is a testimony to the power of God. I just love to meet people like Jeremiah. What a lovable guy.

We all miss him, but you were the closest and you will miss him the most. Tears are therapeutic and give a release. God is always there whether or not we feel His presence. Our life in Christ is by faith not feeling. Just know according to His Word that this is true.

There are several steps to the grieving process. We go through them one by one.

It was an honour to be asked to speak at Jeremiah’s Funeral Service. The chapel was packed with people. It was a real tribute to a Great Gentleman and his gallant widow.

Somehow in a Celebration of Life, the Lord, directs what is said to be meaningful to those present. It may not be all that we had intended to say, but it is what He knows is important and what He wanted the people who were there to hear.

Mary and I are remembering you in prayer a number of times each day. You will get to feel the strength of those who are praying for you. As you know, there are many.

Jesus said: "Sufficient into the day". He urged us not to live tomorrow today. As you seek his Divine, enabling today, He will strengthen you.

We will see Jeremiah again.

Before Gwen died, she said to a friend: "Stan is going to miss me so much" --- then she brightened and said: "But, he will get over it". She was right. I still miss her - but life is meaningful again.

May the Lord bless you indeed !"

Excerpts taken from the Memorial Service for Jeremiah James Greene and delivered by Reverend Stan Crokkall

May the road rise to meet you,

May the wind be always at your back,

May the sun shine warm on your face,

The rain fall softly on your fields,

And until we meet again,

May God hold you in the palm of his hand

-An Irish Blessing

May you be in Heaven half an hour before the devil knows you're dead
