In Memory of Judy Simonetti

Born on June 11th, 1943, Judith Anne Simonetti (nee Janz) was the oldest of four sisters. She graduated from Bloor Collegiate and went on to the Toronto Teacher's College. She then taught for all of her 30 years in Toronto at Regal Road Public School. She married and had two children, Suzy and Daniel. While raising her children on her own, she completed her undergraduate degree at York University. She graduated with a B.A. cum laude in Sociology. An avid nature lover, she instilled in her children and friends the need to care for the environment and recycling long before it became mainstream.

Judy had a fascination with horses but would care for any animal that came her way. At the time of death, she shared her home with her children, with Samson the cat, and two mischievous ferrets Jo and Sai.

She enjoyed her quiet moments tending her bountiful vegetable garden and magnificent flower garden. Her other hobbies included: Tai Chi, line dancing, reading, coffee with friends and just enjoying life. She is sadly missed.
