This is a lasting memorial section for people and animals and we encourage you to send us photos and write whatever you like about your favourite animals and your favourite animal lovers. We will feature the heroes who have saved animals and the animal heroes who have saved people. Here we will read the heart-warming stories and adventures of animals and what they mean to a family who treasures them now or who is missing them terribly because they have passed away. In an effort to properly honour a person’s tremendous lifetime achievements on behalf of animals and people, you can include photographs and write about his/her life to provide us with more insights into what a great man/woman he/she truly is/was. His/her life and his/her story will be included permanently in our Book of Remembrance that is now available for a global audience to read and appreciate. Just one small way we can have a fitting remembrance for the animals and the people whose works and kindness have touched the lives of so many.
A RAINBOW BRIDGE
For you see, just this side of Heaven is a place called the Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here on Earth, that pet goes to the Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run, and swim, and fly and play together. There is plenty of food, water, and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. They never want for anything.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigour. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. They are all happy and content, except for one small thing. They miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one of them, suddenly stops and looks into the distance. Her bright eyes intent, eager body quivering, suddenly she begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, her legs carrying her faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in a joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face, your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together ... Author unknown
