The
Humane Society of Canada, working alongside many other concerned
individuals and groups is pleased to report that the US Management
Authority has rejected an application by a Chicago Museum to remove and
kill 95 Mouse lemurs and 57 Fat-tailed lemurs from wild populations in
Madagascar for research purposes.
The
Humane Society of Canada supports the operation of a lemur sanctuary in
southeastern Madagascar, the only country in the world where these
critically endangered species live in the wild.
